Award win for Acacia Cove

Acacia Cove, one of New Zealand’s most popular retirement villages has won best Active Ageing Programme in the Asia-Pacific region in ‘The Oscars’ of the Age Care Industry, the Asia-Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards.

Acacia Cove is the first village to ever win an award at the competition. Acacia Cove’s programme includes a vast array of resident-managed events, including bowls, snooker, whist, water aerobics, table tennis, knitting, golf, debating, line dancing, choirs, Scrabble and many more. Other innovative approaches include free singing lessons, weight and resistance training, meditation, breathing and sleeping technique classes. A measured cycling and walking track has also been created to encourage movement.

The village was also a finalist in the Facility of the Year - Independent Seniors Living Category.

The APAC Eldercare Innovation Awards was hosted by Ageing Asia PTE Ltd and provides recognition to organisations in Asia Pacific countries that demonstrate eldercare innovation in their business, operational and service models to change the way Seniors age.
